What do I need to complete the online portion of the course?

You will need to have access to Microsoft Office (especially Word and Powerpoint) as well as high speed internet.

Do I need to be available that first week of the course?

Yes. You will spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday online with the KITT instructor reviewing all of the materials needed to complete the course.

What learning platform is used for the KITT courses?

It is called the LAMP Learning System and its parent company is Sakai.

Is there an additional cost to access to the LAMP Learning System?

No, access to the LAMP learning system is part of the cost of the course. It does not require an extra fee.

Is there a required teaching component for the KITT courses?

Yes, on the 10th week, you will do a short presentation to the Kettering staff and faculty.

What kind of recognition do I get for completing a course?

Upon graduation, The Kettering Institute for Teacher Training will award you an official Certificate of Completion to document your training. Also, depending on the level of your performance, you will receive a Basic, Proficient, or Distinguished letter of recommendation for employment opportunities.
